I’m a communication enthusiast with a preoccupation for musing. I extend empathy by default and hope to put it to good use to brands, preferably through advertising. I’m an aspiring strategist and planner (in the field of communications) who happens to be a techie by qualification. I worked super-hard to get a degree in Computer Engineering – knew I wouldn’t use it but the books were fun. If I go bankrupt it will probably be because I bought a lot of shoes or books or decided to execute some strange business-plan. Or all of the above. The desire to learn and discover makes me invest a lot of time and energy in seemingly useless pursuits that promise no benefits. If curiosity kills the cat, I won’t live long. I think people are fascinating – to the extent of often being blinded by human potential. I love stories – even when they are badly told. Especially if they’re badly told. I’m an impractical idealist who believes that the world can be saved, that people can be rescued, that progress is ensured, that there is meaning to be found, that there are interpretations to arrive at, that there is a truth to be unlocked and that there is a raison d’etre to live up to. I also believe that choosing to be on the side of the truth keeps you rooted in reality – an important side to be on if you’re striving for the ideal. I’m a culture spy on a mission to uncover the sufficiently-evasive influences that govern human nature.
I’m not convinced that living only for yourself fetches you the best returns. I’m somewhat convinced that dogs were created to keep human beings from killing themselves. I’m almost convinced that conversations solve most of our problems. I’m absolutely convinced that metaphors are the best thing that happened to human understanding.
This Tumblog is an exercise in putting together things that feed my soul. If you’re reading this and don’t have a tumblog of your own, get it. We want to know what matters to you. I know I do.
